چکیده
mass showing “cellular components with mucoid material consistent with pleomorphic adenoma.” The gland was removed, revealing a 2.9 x 2.4 x 2.0 cm well circumscribed tan-grey opaque mass with a myxoid appearance on cut surface (Figure 1). The frozen section slides demonstrated mixed epithelial and myxoid areas. The extensive myxoid stroma contained characteristic red to pink crystalloid deposits arranged in floret-like patterns (Figure 2). The intraoperative consult diagnosis was “myxoid lesion suggestive of mixed tumor on representative section.”

Synchronous Parotid and Homolateral Submandibular Gland Pleomorphic Adenoma
Introduction: Pleomorphic adenomas are benign neoplasms of salivary glands. The simultaneous homolateral occurrence of these tumors in salivary glands is exceedingly rare. Case Report: An adult female presenting to our OPD with the swelling of right-sided preauricular and submandibular regions was diagnosed with the pleomorphic adenoma based on fine needle aspiration c...
متن کاملSimultaneous bilateral pleomorphic adenomas of the parotid glands with unilateral tyrosine rich crystalloids.
A case of simultaneous, bilateral pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid glands following irradiation to the head and neck for childhood Hodgkin's disease is presented. The tumour on the side given the highest radiation exposure contained so-called tyrosine rich crystalloids (TRCs). Simultaneous salivary gland neoplasms are rare; TRCs are also an unusual finding. Simultaneous pleomorphic adenomas w...
متن کاملSchwannoma-like pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid
Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common benign salivary gland tumour. It can occur in any salivary gland, but is most frequently found in the parotid gland. Chondroid metaplasia is a frequent finding in pleomorphic adenoma. Other forms of metaplasia have been described, but are encountered less frequently. We report a rare case of unusual pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland with schwannoma-...
متن کاملParotid Lymphoepithelial Cyst in a HIV-Negative Individual: A Case Report
Benign lymphoepithelial cysts of the parotid are common in retropositive patients, but extremely rare in HIV-negative individuals. We present a 28-year-old man who presented with a painless, gradually increasing swelling in the left parotid region and was clinically diagnosed to have a pleomorphic adenoma of the left parotid gland. Preoperative blood investigations revealed that the patient was...
متن کاملBasal Cell Adenoma of the Parotid Gland: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
Salivary gland tumors are among the pathologies in the head and neck that may be challenging in diagnosis and treatment. Most benign tumors occur in the parotid gland. Pleomorphic Adenoma is the most common type. Basal Cell Adenoma is a subtype of the Monomorphic Adenoma with rare occurrence. Proper diagnosis and clinical evaluation by the use of radiography can lead the physician to the best t...
